Tulare County represented well at CRP

After I attended the California Republican Convention this last weekend, it was very obvious that the leadership in Tulare County is the cream of the crop in California. I wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first convention, but there were several highlights. The election of a new national committemen, Shawn Steele, that will bring fresh ideas and fight for the Golden state on the national level. In addition, I was amazed at the sheer number of youths participating at the convention. Easily 25-30 percent of the participants were in the 40 or younger age group. So the Dems can't say we are dead yet. But the real highlight was Congressman Devin Nunes and Central Committe Chairman Laura Gadke. Gadke, serves as a director to the state committee and fought hard on the the party platform to keep the conservative values that the Central Valley holds so dear. Nunes, became the keynote speaker on Saturday night and gave a rousing speech that the crowd went crazy over. Nunes encouraged the crowd on redistricting reform, energy independence and the importance of rallying around McCain. But the most important part was rallying republicans to fight for what we believe in and not giving in to the Dems. We have no where to go but up. Great convention
